GBartlett: NEW FORUM!!! When I suggested creating this, the reaction was generally positive. So here we go, and see how it works.
Admins and moderators, we need to cull frequently-asked questions from other forums and add them here. Try and keep the FAQ threads as specific as possible - for example, start separate threads on "Ohm's Law", "AC impedance" and "Kirchoff's Theorem" instead of a single monster thread called "Electronics theory".
All these questions will have been asked and answered many times (if they're "frequently-asked questions", I should hope so!), so there should be many threads about these. "Cherry-pick" information from all the threads and copy the best stuff here. Feel free to collate information from multiple sources into a single post, if it makes things clearer - if you're doing this though, remember to credit all posters at the bottom of that post so that no-one's contribution to this is missed. Probably the easiest way is to work back through the threads and copy likely-looking threads to here while you're working. Then copy useful stuff to a permanent home when you're done searching.
As always, there's no compulsion on admins/moderators to do anything. All this collating of information will take some significant time, given that there are currently thousands of threads on the board! The only thing I'd ask is that if you're going to do a FAQ entry, don't leave it half-finished (or at least not for too long). John Adams' only real request for FAQ pages is that they be organised properly.
Visitors to this board, please check the threads here before posting questions to other boards. This FAQ forum is new and therefore it will take some time to get it set up properly. Please have patience while we're doing this.
Please also note that to ensure this FAQ forum stays clean and easy-to-use, only admins and moderators can post here. If you have any questions about a FAQ item, post in one of the other forums. Remember to mention the FAQ item that needs attention, so we can keep the FAQ up-to-date and add any further information as required.
