Where did everyone go? This site used to have a decent amount of traffic. Gbartlett you don't seem to be around anymore either. Mcgreggor...... anyone....? At one time there was many moderators and users now nothing but the occasional person leaving an ad. Did I miss something? -THEEEPROMMAN

I've noticed the same thing. I come here now only about once a week now because there is so little traffic.
I've PM'ed McGreggor a couple of times without success, so I fear the worst! Could I suggest all active members might like to respond to this thread to reaffirm their interest? |

Long ago I used to be one of the main gurus next to Graham. The new people come and go. The mods here have been here for many years. There is no change other than the new people, for the questions are just running in loops. This is to be expected since we were not all board on the same day, year.
But the rediculusly amount of pop ups and inescapable inline advertisement drove me away from this place. Whats sad is that its becoming accepted. People do not even understand the dept of how wrong this is because they are born into this disrespectful environment. Oh, also some of us have moved on! Got our own sites and forums. Ezboard is old now adays anyway. |

Yes, I don't check this board nearly as much as I used to. Mainly this is down to it not being as busy as it used to be, and partly it's because I don't like EZBoard much any more. The board used to be very busy - I'd often be spending an hour or two a day answering questions. Then EZBoard added all their ads on it, and the number of people using the place dropped like a stone. Most of the regulars stayed around (Macgregor, pebe, etc) but there just wasn't as much for us to do. I started checking every other day, then less often. At the moment I only tend to look roughly every couple of weeks. Mainly these days I do stuff on the EPE Chatzone instead (www.epemag.co.uk), and I know DeanHuster is on there too. It's simply a better place to be, cos you're not bombarded with ads. It's a shame that a rather successful online community got screwed up this way by EZBoard, but so it goes. I guess we didn't pay them anything so we can't expect loyalty from them, but it's still a shame. Graham. |

I used to be quite active here and on several other forums.
Upon my return, early last year, from a few weeks in the 'States, I found that my enthusiasm had simply evaporated. I've given some thought to it (but not a lot) and still don't really understand why. But one thing which does come to mind is a feeling of "throwing in the towel" after reading a vigorous and verbose defence, by a regular contributor/moderator on another forum, of bad practise because "it had always been done like that" or some such drivel. I feel, when confronted by that, that my expertise, such as it is, might as well go to the grave with me. (Pearl before swine etc.) I happened to come here today simply out of curiosity when I noticed and remembered a linkto here in an item on my site. Equal rights for equal responsibilities.

I know the feeling. I left one of the other forums because one member, having been elevated to the status of moderator, then adopted the stance of an arrogant knowall and proceeded to insult enquiring members with his nasty remarks. He may think it makes him look superior - I think it makes him look like a little bully boy. I think the object of a forum is to help others who write in with a problem - not insult them, or use 'oneupmanship'. |

Hi! Macgregor here.... Happy to hear we are all still alive and kicking....Yes I too can see that the EzBoard is not what it used to be...too many added pop ups ... I expect if we paid into the fund they might control that, but the need is still there and you gentleman and your expertise is still desperately needed......if you go then all that expertise is lost...nobody knows it all... it is a team effort that makes the difference.... but you gentleman know most of it, especially on the subjects asked on this board.
These young folks and some older folks also interested in this technical material still need your help, but sometimes the person giving that help needs help also (like me just to get up in the morning Ha..Ha.)
