Just for fun, how about each of you seeing this make a post to see how many users there are lurking around. This board seems to be stagnant, which is a shame. It was pretty active back in the mid-1990s.

To Kamik who posted asking about other boards:
Yeah, there are a ton. But I've posted to different boards on occasion and this is the one I always come back to...And that's for a reason...There are guys on here like David Bridgen and McGregor (and a bunch of others who right now I can't remember, but these two stick out) who will answer your questions with patience and clarity. When i discovered this place, it was the comprehensive replies that I'd get to my newbie questions that kept me checking this site and wanting to contribute. I posted a few times as I was total newbie (still am). When I first posted it was ezboard.com. Then one day I visited and lo and behold, my post and question met with a deafening silence. It was sad, really. You'll find that not too many boards exist where the experienced hands will take the time to give a thorough reply to a total newbie's doubts. After this period of near-death, I'm very glad to see it continue, grow and attract new people. Charles |

Ah, a new board design. Interesting. I had to re-sign up to log on! Ah, well, it gave me the opportunity to input an avatar -- a real one! Yep, that's
me, taken probably in 2000 -- a school picture -- although I got mine free since I'm the teacher.
I really would be nice to see this board take off again. It has always offered a friendly place, especially for newbies, to post questions without getting flamed into oblivion. Dean |

Nice to meet you and welcome, Ed. According to your website, you like Nixies. I grew up with those things, the only way of having a digital display short of
using columns of lamps as they did in the 1960s before Nixies were developed. Expensive little buggers, they were. Experimenters rejoiced with the advent of
7-segment LEDs, not having to have expensive readout tubes, troublesome drivers and high voltage power supplies!
